TOPIC SELECTION

Topic Submission Process

The Collegiate Public Forum League releases two topics per year; each for the fall and spring semester. The CPFL aims to have a balance of discussions, with one domestic and one international topic per year. Topics are released August 15th and December 15th.

The CPFL Topic Selection Committee seeks the input of our community. We ask coaches, students, and community members to share their ideas for potential debate resolutions.

We ask our community to propose sample resolutions and/or topic areas for the CPFL Topic Selection Committee to explore. Proposed topics are required to meet certain criteria, to help the Committee understand the potential resolutions more deeply. Currently, the deadline to propose a topic for the spring semester is November 20th, 2021.


Once all topic proposals are submitted, the CPFL Topic Selection Committee will review all proposals and vote on which topic will be used for the following semester
